We all know by now how important a role our managers play in our professional development. That's why in this video I share 6 tips for productive 1:1 meetings with your manager, which you can immediately apply in your next one-on-one conversation with your boss!
If you think about it, it's in the best interest of both you and your manager to have effective one-on-one conversations, as constructive one-on-one conversations throughout the year make performance reviews a breeze. With routine 1:1 conversations, review time can become more about goals and the year ahead, rather than constructive feedback from the past
The problem is that most of us (I've fallen victim to this too) take a fairly passive approach to 1:1 meetings. Example: If you do a quick Google search, you will find LOTS of resources teaching managers how to have 1:1 conversations with us, but very few resources teaching us how to lead effectively!
To get the most out of your next one-on-one meeting with the boss, you'll want to prepare an agenda in advance, have a robust structure during the one-on-one meeting, and then take action.
