We focus on the nonlinear mechanical optimization study and structural performance evaluation of a cantilever snap-fit design used in a wearable medical device. The adopted design and simulation workflow is based on SimScale's cloud-native engineering simulation capabilities and its Onshape integration.
The time required to validate how the change in various design parameters affects the structural integrity, performance and non-linear behavior of mechanical components can be reduced by an order of magnitude due to the collaborative, powerful, fast and scalable nature of simulation workflows at based on cloud-native CAE tools. The practical benefits are numerous: more detailed insights, fewer physical tests, and a reduced chance of expensive late-stage design changes, to name a few.
