How do you link an external bank account to your Ally bank? First, open ally.com in your browser. Then click on the login button in the top right corner. Then enter your username and password in the login form and click the Login button. You can then see all your Ally accounts on the dashboard.
In the horizontal menu at the top, find the "Transfer" button and click it. Then select 'Bank transfers' from the drop-down menu. On the Transfers page, click the 'Link other accounts' button. Then, in the "Link an account at another institution" dialog box, select an account type. Then you can enter your account nickname and routing number. You will then need to enter your account number. Then click 'Continue'. Ally Bank wants you to verify the external account using two trial payments. Click on 'Send trial deposits'. Within the next 3 days you should see two very small deposits into your account at another bank. When you receive the deposits, log back into your Ally bank account. Then from the horizontal menu at the top, select Accounts.”
Then select 'Manage linked accounts' from the drop-down menu.
On the Manage Linked Accounts page, you will see all your linked accounts.
Your new account must be in 'Verification Pending' status.
Click the Verify button.
You must then enter the amounts received and click 'Verify'.
Your external bank account is linked and you can see it at the very bottom of the list.
