Students enrolled in the K-12 Web Archiving program use Archive-It to capture websites. They decide which websites to capture and add a short description to each site they archive so that people will know where the sites are in the future about and why the students selected them.

By providing students with the opportunity to preserve websites, they not only have the chance to document their culture and learn about the fragility of digital content, but their work also becomes a primary source of information for future researchers.

This video highlights a class of eight students from the James Moran School in Wallingford, Connecticut. It also discusses the choices the students made when collecting websites. It also provides insight into how websites should be actively managed to to ensure that they are always accessible.
