In this episode of Uncovering Signal Integrity Myths, you'll learn about vertical noise and what you can do to ensure it doesn't affect your measurements. Even though vertical noise cannot technically be remedied, it is possible to measure around it.

Understanding what noise is coming out of your device and what is coming out of the oscilloscope is critical if you want a fully functional device. Vertical noise is often overlooked, but can cause significant problems such as amplitude measurement errors, waveform reconstruction uncertainty, timing errors and jitter, or undesirably “thick” waveforms.

By the end of this episode, you will understand what causes vertical noise, how to check the noise floor of an oscilloscope, and how to measure around it.

Tune in for future Signal Integrity Myth Exposing episodes that address more common misconceptions surrounding signal integrity.

(The Keysight Infiniium S-series oscilloscope)

The S Series lets you see the truest representation of your signal with the industry's best signal integrity: 10-bit ADC, low-noise front end, superior timebase, hardware signal processing, and responsive deep memory.

Exposing Signal Integrity Myths is hosted by Erin East. The video series delves into various misconceptions surrounding oscilloscope signal integrity. By watching this series you will learn the important considerations when determining the true measurement quality of an oscilloscope. Understanding the system as a whole will help you understand the true performance of your device.
