Recurring tasks and templates are great for reminding you when to take repetitive actions and help you define a clear process for how and when to do the work. I often get questions about best practices for using a recurring task instead of a template. They are similar, both may have details and subtasks built into them, so what's the difference?

Recurring tasks » Ideal for work that you need to complete daily, weekly, monthly or annually at specific time intervals, for example monthly accounting and weekly reporting.

Task templates » Better for ad hoc work that happens from time to time, but the frequency is more random. for example content templates, customer templates.
