Today we're going to talk about two issues I have with my Blink Outdoor camera and we'll also look at accessories that can help improve them.
So the Blink outdoor and indoor cameras are the only camera system created recently that still uses disposable batteries to power the camera. The first versions of Arlo and also the Reolink Argus started with disposable CR123A batteries, but later models were replaced by removable and replaceable batteries and they now used built-in rechargeable batteries.

Blink still continued with their AA lithium cameras which they advertise as lasting up to 2 years… in reality though and if the camera is monitoring an area where there is a fair amount of traffic then you are lucky if you get 1 years free from batteries.

To eliminate concerns about battery life, you can hardwire the Blink outdoor camera. There are many suppliers on Amazon that sell extended micro USB cables designed for outdoor use and specifically for Blink cameras.

What you can also look at are solar panels… now these solar panels also have to be designed for Blink because a regular solar panel will not work. It should have a built-in rechargeable battery that is charged by the panel and which in turn powers the camera.

Finally, we're going to look at Wasserstein Floodlight, designed for Blink cameras, which not only provides unlimited power to the Blink outdoor camera, but will also help record color footage at night instead of the crappy night vision that the Blink cameras provide. to have.
