Jeffrey Saviano
EY Global Tax Innovation Leader
Based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, I am a Director of EY and a member of EY's Global Innovation Leadership Team. I lead teams in discovering, designing and commercializing new tax services, with an emphasis on the deployment of new technology platforms. I create a startup culture to drive innovation through test and learn patterns and accelerated innovation.

My interests include the application of new, cutting-edge technologies in government tax administrations and corporate tax departments; innovation strategy for professional service providers; leading programs to help corporate tax executives build their innovation capabilities; business model and customer experience innovation.

Before moving to innovation, I was a longtime leader of EY's Americas Indirect Tax Practice, where I helped companies manage their state and local taxes in the United States and their non-income taxes globally. In that role, I advised clients on state tax policy matters affecting corporate taxpayers. I have more than twenty years of experience in state, local and indirect taxes.

I gave a TEDx Talk in Brookline, Massachusetts, in the fall of 2016, based on the idea that imposing a carbon tax could help mitigate the harmful effects of climate change. I testified before the Joint Tax Committee of the Massachusetts Legislature on the impact of proposed changes to the state's tax laws. I am a frequent speaker on tax policy issues in the US.

I received a bachelor's degree in accounting from Iona College, a JD from Syracuse University College of Law, and an LL.M. in Taxation from Boston University School of Law. I serve on the Editorial Advisory Board of Innovation Leader and the Elon University School of Law Entrepreneurship Advisory Group. I am a former tax professor at Suffolk University's Sawyer Business School, and in 2016 I taught an Innovation in Professional Services course at Elon University School of Law.
