More than ever, consumers rely on their home network for work, entertainment and everyday life. Consumers are increasingly connecting smart devices to the network, relying on high-speed connections to work from home and stream rich content such as HD movies and video games. To enable these experiences, telecom companies and communications service providers (CSPs) use a range of Customer Premises Equipment (CPE) (i.e. set-top boxes (STB), broadband routers, Wi-Fi extenders and home gateways) to deliver service offerings to customers. . In this tech talk, we discuss how service providers are using the cloud to develop innovative strategies that help them gather new data insights from their CPE device fleet and improve the way CPE devices are managed. Now that CPE data is available for analysis in the cloud, service providers can use analytics and AI/ML tools to solve business problems (churn and retention analysis, predictive hardware diagnostics) and improve the quality of their customers' experience (self-healing intelligent CPE devices, as an example). This session shows how service providers can use AWS and AWS IoT services to enhance their current CPE management platforms, securely connect CPE devices to the cloud at scale, and leverage the CPE data to drive their products and consumer experiences to improve.
