I've been tracking my calories for years, so here are some calorie tracking tips PART 7

INTERMITTENT FASTING

Fasting is a great weight loss tool, but you probably need to understand how it works before implementing it

When it comes to losing weight, all it does is remove x number of calories during the specific period you are fasting.

The reason why it helps people lose weight is that if someone were to eat 2600 calories for maintenance, they would be fasting until noon every day and breakfast usually contains 600 calories. They are now in a calorie deficit because they only eat 2,000 calories a day.

I normally don't start fasting until my calories are quite low, let's say 1400 or 1600. I fast until after noon so I can save my calories for larger meals, which will keep me feeling full, rather than my calories spread out for more frequent meals.

There's no real rule for how long you should fast, but I would just stick with it from the time you wake up until around noon.

And as for 5:2 or alternative fasting methods… Don't do those
