Connecting Ecosystems: Blockchain Interoperability – Hart Montgomery, Fujitsu Laboratories of America & Peter Somogyvari, Accenture

Following last year's presentation, https://hgf18.sched.com/event/JKe4, Accenture will provide an update on their ongoing work around Blockchain interoperability.

The solution defines a communication model that allows authorized blockchain ecosystems to exchange any on-chain data or custom assets (fungible/non-fungible) independently of the platform (e.g. Hyperledger Fabric, Quorum, etc.) without an intermediary. This project implements an interoperability validator network, an overlay network of carefully selected actors who will validate and sign data before sharing it. An “interoperability validator” overlay network is introduced for each of the interoperable blockchains. Interoperability validators are known or largely discoverable by the ecosystem and are typically participants already participating in the governance or consensus.

This project proposes an alternative to existing interoperability models, and is specifically designed for permissioned blockchain networks.

An update on project status will be provided, along with an overview of the roadmap and planned future works. A live technical demo is provided showing the protocol in action.

Hyperledger – Open source Blockchain technologies

Hyperledger is an open source community focused on developing a set of stable frameworks, tools, and libraries for enterprise-level blockchain implementations.
It serves as a neutral home for several distributed ledger frameworks including Hyperledger Besu, Fabric, Sawtooth, Indy, as well as tools such as Hyperledger Avalon, Cactus and libraries such as Hyperledger Aries, Ursa. Learn more about Hyperledger projects: https://www.hyperledger.org/use
