Hello friends,
Corel VideoStudio (formerly Ulead VideoStudio) is a video editing software package for Microsoft Windows distributed by Ulead Systems (a division of Corel). The latest version of the software is X9.
Basic editing
The software allows for both storyboard and timeline-oriented editing. Various formats are supported for source clips, and the resulting video can be exported to DVD, AVCHD, HD-DVD and AVI. VideoStudio also supports direct DV and HDV recording to disc.

Transitions
VideoStudio offers several categories of video transitions, including:

FX contains various video effects such as 'Burn' and 'Fade to black'
3D offers various 3D transition effects
Album a slideshow effect similar to a photo album.
Overlay
Users can overlay a Flash animation, an image or text over the video. However, the number of overlays allowed is limited. The user must remove a certain color from the overlay video so that the desired background or image can appear in the foreground.

Other features
VideoStudio can change the apparent playback speed of video, invert it, and adjust its hue and saturation. It provides tools that allow the user to trim, crop and split video tracks. The soundtrack can be split from the video track, allowing the audio to play at a different pace than the video. A feature Corel calls /"SmartRender/" displays only the edited portions of a video, allowing a user to preview the edited footage without VideoStudio creating temporary files. This feature also makes the final rendering much faster.

Proxy video files
VideoStudio supports high-definition video editing. Proxy files are smaller versions of the video source that replace the full-resolution source during editing to improve performance.

Plugins/bundles
VideoStudio supports VFX type plugins from providers such as New Blue FX. The proDAD plug-ins Roto-Pen, Script, Vitascene and Mercalli-Stabilizer are bundled with X4, X5 and X6.
