Today we're going to talk about one of the phases of medical device development. DFM design for manufacturing. A lot of people will say, hey, I've got my DFM files, I'm ready for manufacturing.
DFM files are very specific. They're about supplier sourcing, they're about the, the exact specifications of the individual 30 parts, 40 parts. They're about what steps are produced first, what's connected next. It's literally a blueprint, a recipe from A to Z and how to source the raw materials, and how to build it and assemble it, all the way to production.
Sometimes these DFM files are as long as 30 pages.
