FATMAP is a global outdoor community for mountain enthusiasts that helps you discover, plan and share your adventures better than ever.

You can add or upload your own routes to FATMAP in several ways. In this video we show how you can draw routes on the map via the web platform.

1. Make sure you are logged in to the FATMAP web platform: https://www.fatmap.com

2. Navigate to the area on the map where you want to draw your line, then click the Create a New Adventure button (the pen symbol) at the bottom right of the screen.

3. Choose your activity type from the drop-down menu.

4. Select the Draw a route option.

5. By default, the SnapTo option at the top of the screen (highlighted in the screenshot below) is enabled, making it very easy to link the route to existing routes on the map. If you prefer to draw your line freely, click the SnapTo button to turn it off.

6. Start by clicking on the map where you want to start your route.

7. You will see that you can now move your cursor to create the route and click to place the next point. You can place as many points as you want.

Note – You will notice that as you draw your route, the statistics for the route will appear in the bottom left of the screen.

8. To complete the route, simply press the Enter/Return key. You will then see a finish flag indicating the end.

9. If you want to extend your line further, you can continue drawing your line by double-clicking the end point and clicking to place another point.

10. You can add points anywhere on your line by holding down the A key and clicking on the line.

11. Even after you save your route, you can always go back in and edit it at any time.

12. You can delete points on your line by simply selecting them and pressing the Delete/Backspace key.

13. To delete multiple points, select the first point, hold down the Shift key, and select the last point. You will see that all the points between these two points are now highlighted and you can press the Delete/Backspace key to delete them all.

14. Once you have finished drawing your route, click the Save & Continue button to add details to your route.
