The Eastern Cape government remains keen on building a nuclear power plant in the province. But Prime Minister Oscar Mabuyane's statement at the opening of the legislature yesterday drew mixed reactions from the Kouga area where one of the proposed sites, Thyspunt, is located. But Thyspunt is apparently not the frontrunner as a location, as Duinefontein in the Western Cape is at the forefront of the process regarding planning and logistics, including environmental impact studies.
