The fourth industrial revolution, characterized by artificial intelligence and robot technology, offers countless opportunities. However, the benefits of the robot age should not blind us to some moral implications. Technology is never neutral. It has a profound impact on human behavior, such as with nudging techniques. With the evolution towards autonomous technology, we see the rise of 'judging technology', which increases the interaction between ethics and technology. To keep robot evolution human, we need to talk about values. Jochanan Eynikel (1981) is a business philosopher at the ETION think tank, a Belgian forum for business leaders and decision makers. He thinks, writes and speaks about the interplay of ethics, entrepreneurship and future thinking. His book on the ethics of technology was published in 2017 (in Dutch: Robot aan het Stuur, Lannoo Campus). The book is concerned with the ethical and social impact of disruptive technologies such as smart robotics and artificial intelligence. Jochanan has a Masters in Philosophy from the University of Leuven (Belgium) and Stellenbosch (South Africa), as well as a Masters in Journalism. This talk was delivered at a TEDx event in the TED conference format, but independently organized by a local community. For more information, visit https://www.ted.com/tedx
