Hello. I'm Kathy Dise and welcome to the BudgetEASE broadcast. Today we're going to talk about the special accounting needs of biotech companies. You know, when BudgetEASE was founded about 13 years ago, our first two clients were biotech companies and they needed us to help them deal with their government subsidies, so this is why. Biotech companies are often founded by scientists, doctors or professors, who are ridiculously talented when it comes to their technology, but when it comes to accounting, they need help. If you are dealing with government grants from the NIH (National National Institute of Health) or from your state, you will need to have a specific grant administration that handles all your expenses so that you can report to them and get your draws appropriately. Well, we are very good at that. What we do is we set up customers for each grant or sub-customer, and then also build a budget per customer in QuickBooks so that at any time we know how much we've taken out and how much we have left. to spend for that grant – we can do this using multiple grants.
