It's crazy how big data is used to solve some types of problems and not others.
Prukalpa Sankar imagines a world where we can catch criminals at the scene of the crime – not years later, reroute cars in real time to avoid the traffic jams we all hate, predict whether a child will drop out of school, even know and eradicates a disease as soon as it breaks out, not thousands of deaths later.

Prukalpa is co-founder of Atlan (www.atlan.com), a data intelligence company. Their platform brings the entire decision-making process into one place: from collecting primary data and accessing secondary data to aggregating internal data and visualizing data through easy-to-use dashboards. They work with more than 150 organizations in 7 countries, including the Gates Foundation, Tata Trusts, Government of India, Unilever and Frost & Sullivan. Atlan was included on the Forbes Asia 30 Under 30 and Fortune India 40 Under 40 lists in 2016.
