Dr. Collier Griffin, product manager at Synapse Health, tells us about the benefits of decentralized health records, using Switzerland as an example. Unlike the US, where patients often have multiple specialists and their medical records are spread across different systems, Switzerland has a card that gives doctors instant access to all of a patient's records. Our hope is that a private government blockchain can be created, allowing medical records to be stored securely and privately that any doctor can access in real time. This would greatly improve cooperation and reduce the chance of errors and lawsuits.
