You can use javascript and node.js to create your bot. Once your bot is created, you can use an app host like Heroku to deploy it.

Part 2: Connecting your bot to Messenger

Connecting your bot requires a few simple steps:
1) Sign up for a Facebook developer account and create a new app
2) Connect the app to an existing Facebook page that you are an administrator of
3) This produces an 'Access Token'
4) Add the access token to your index.js file
5) Go to Webhooks
6) Enter your app's webhook
7) Enter your authentication token

Part 3: Manipulating Your Facebook Messenger Bots

There are two basic ways to interact with a chatbot:

1) Text/Chat: You can use 'Trigger' words to create context and conversation in your bot. This can therefore become complicated, companies such as Wit and Playgrouds have simplified the process. If you are interested in a 'Conversational Bot', I highly recommend checking out ALICE

2) Cards/Links: Cards allow your bot to interact with users easily. Essentially, a map provides a user with 1 to 3 options that guide the user through a user flow. Currently, Facebook is pushing for a Cards approach because it makes it easier to provide a great user experience.
