-Make your password something memorable, but at the same time, don't make it something easy enough to guess, like your pet's name or your mother's maiden name, but make it something longer, like a quote from your favorite movie. Or a combination of different, unrelated things.
-Make them 8-12 characters long; this is the requirement on most sites you visit.
-Make sure your passwords contain some numbers and special characters. For example, if you are using your favorite quote, change some letters like “A” to an @ symbol, or “E” to “3”, or even “#” since that is the symbol under the “#” key on the keyboard.
-Bonus tip: Don't make your passwords the same, hackers are counting on you to do this because they think people are stupid enough to do this. Don't give them the chance!
– Another bonus tip: change your passwords! You should set a time on your calendar approximately every 90 days to go through and change your passwords. This way you can be sure that you are one step ahead even in the event of a data breach.
