British mobile banking app Monzo has just launched a new investment product: Monzo Investments. It offers their customers an easy way to invest their money in shares and/or bonds through a choice of 3 different funds (with different levels of risk/return profile).

In this video I walk through the most important things you need to know. What are shares? What are bonds? What are funds and which 3 does Monzo offer? How do the rates and costs compare to other providers?

Overall, this new product offering has a very simple, uncluttered user interface, as we have come to expect from Monzo.

It is clearly designed with new or novice investors in mind as the functionality is minimal, keeping it easy to understand. They also offer an introduction to investment guidance, broken down in Instagram Stories style, which is a nice touch.

In terms of costs, this is not the cheapest offering on the market, but it is not the most expensive either. For those new to investing, the simplicity and ease of use of the app may outweigh the benefits of cheaper fees elsewhere.
