I get asked this multiple times EVERY DAY.
And while we can lose belly fat, we can't MAKE the fat loss AS EFFECTIVE with abdominal exercises like leg raises, sit-ups, or crunches.
/"Local reduction/" with exercises is not effective.*
With the help of diet and exercise, we lose fat evenly all over our body.
Everyone has their own preferences for where fat is stored, but this largely depends on genetics.
*I am aware of some more recent studies that show a localized reduction by doing intense exercise in one area followed by cardio. However, there are not a LOT of studies on this and it is debatable whether this is significantly more effective than just regular diet and exercise. It is also unknown if there were other factors at play in this study. It is interesting, but I hesitate to recommend it until we know more.
