According to recent data, only 16% of American high school students are proficient in math and interested in pursuing a STEM career, and as many as 2.4 million STEM jobs remain unfilled.
Additionally, 40% of companies report difficulty filling STEM positions, and the US STEM workforce is estimated at 8,650,000, of which 84% are white or Asian men and only 10% are minorities.
These statistics concern me deeply, which is why I am so passionate about equipping teachers and parents with the tools they need to inspire their students to pursue STEM careers.
On today's episode of the Kantis Simmons Show, I share five strategies to make STEM more engaging, engaging, and likable for students.
I encourage you to watch the video and let me know if you have any other ideas to promote STEM among students or children.
