Venmo is an app for sending and receiving money.

Venmo finally has a very useful update that lets you change the privacy of your messages so that they are completely private by default. I'm going to show you exactly how it works. If you go to the Venmo app it explains it in detail. So there are public settings for privacy. This means that anyone on the internet can see and enjoy comments, but the payment amounts are always secret.

That has been the case for a long time. Then you could have a friend's privacy option. This means that these are friend payments, only your friends and the friends of other participants can see and respond to it. And finally, my favorite option is the private privacy option, that is, private payment. Only participants can see the meaning of the payee and payer of that payment.

So now you can change this default app-wide. So you don't have to select this every time you choose. I'll show you how. Here on your Venmo, go to the three lines above. And then on this page go to the Settings tab. And here there is an option for privacy. Click on this. And this is where I was reading all that information to learn more about privacy, but you can now see that if you change this from public or friends to private, everything you do on Venmo, when you pay and receive money, remains private between the sender and the recipient only, not your friends.
