Managing your mobile data usage is essential to avoid exceeding your data plan limits and incurring additional charges. Here's how to enable, disable, and manage cellular data on your iPhone:
Enable/disable mobile data

Open the Settings app:
Tap the Settings app on your home screen.

Tap Mobile:
From the Settings menu, tap Cellular (or Cellular data, depending on your region).

Enable mobile data:
Move the mobile data switch to the on (green) position to enable mobile data.
Move the switch to the off position (gray) to disable mobile data.

Manage mobile data usage

View data usage:
In the Mobile settings menu, scroll down to view your data usage for the current period, as well as the apps that are using mobile data.

Limit data usage for specific apps:
Scroll through the list of apps and turn off the switch next to each app you don't want to use mobile data for. This limits the app to WiFi only.

To enable low data mode:
Low Data Mode helps reduce your data usage by pausing automatic updates and background tasks when your iPhone is connected to a cellular network.
To enable low data mode, go to Settings, then Cellular, tap Cellular Data Options and switch low data mode to the position on.

To check data roaming:
If you travel internationally, you can turn off data roaming to avoid high costs.
Go to Settings, then Cellular, tap Cellular Data Options and turn off Data Roaming.

Additional tips

To reset statistics:
To track your data usage from a specific date, you can reset the statistics. Go to Settings, then Cellular, scroll down and tap Reset Stats. This resets the data usage counter to zero.

Wifi assistance:
Wi-Fi Assist automatically uses mobile data when your Wi-Fi connection is weak. To disable this feature, go to Settings then Cellular and scroll down to disable Wi-Fi Assist.

Check provider data plans:
Regularly check your provider's data plan and usage limits via the app or website to stay within your data limit.

By managing your mobile data efficiently, you can avoid unexpected costs and stay connected when you need it most.
