Hi, I'm Alexa and this is a marketing minute about staying ahead of industry trends.
In all industries, it is critical to always pay attention and listen to what is happening in the industry and what is on the horizon. To add value to your own organization and that of your customers, you must not only stay abreast of current industry trends and developments, but also understand the trends well enough to predict what will happen next and take action to undertake. This can help you become an industry leader and drive your own business and your customers' businesses forward.
Back in 2011, we helped a healthcare company anticipate and solve their customers' pain points before any other healthcare organization could. We launched the We Speak Your Language campaign and helped train all employees to use everyday language instead of confusing healthcare jargon. It completely changed the organization and their customer experience. Healthcare companies that didn't realize this at the time are still trying to catch up and adapt their jargon to be more customer-friendly to this day.
How do you learn more about the sectors you invest in? To get started, you can subscribe to email newsletters and trade magazines, participate in forums and discussion boards, attend industry-related conferences, browse websites and blogs, activate Google Alerts and read industry news, listen to podcasts, talk to industry peers to understand what they market, and stay in touch with your customers to understand their pain points that you can help solve.
