This CAN Bus resistance check is very simple and easy WHEN DONE CORRECTLY. In this video we look at how to diagnose a CAN bus fault, looking at CAN high and CAN low wiring with a multimeter. We cover in depth all the different measurements you need to make when using resistance to check the can bus network. CAN bus fault diagnosis can be difficult; I'll break it down into simple steps to help you improve your car diagnostics. This is similar to the test I conduct with Master Technicians at CAN Bus Technical Training!!
I prefer to use an oscilloscope for my CAN bus diagnostics (PicoScope 2204A), but my Fluke meter is a good tool if used correctly. We will also see if a cheap multimeter is suitable for diagnosing CAN Bus as well.
