Evernote is organized into notebooks and notes. Multiple notebooks can fall under a stack. Evernote's biggest strength is its powerful search function, which can even search attached files or handwritten notes.

Evernote's main competitors are Apple Notes and Microsoft's OneNote. Both options are free. Evernote starts with a free version, but a premium subscription service is offered for additional features and storage.
