Venmo is a free app for iOS and Android that lets you send and receive money to anyone.
All you need is a bank account or credit or debit card. You can also get a Venmo debit card and add money that way.

Unlike other apps designed to send or receive money, Venmo works like social media. You can share all your activities with your friends or on a public wall. However, you can keep all your activities private if you don't want to use it as a social media platform.

Here is the step-by-step guide to using Venmo to send and receive money.

1. Download and install the Venmo app for iOS or Android

2. Go to settings and add a bank account or credit or debit card

3. To send or request money, click the pencil/money icon at the top right. Find the person through search. Choose the amount you want and leave a note.
Select Send or Request Now.
Change the visibility of your post (it is public by default)

4. You can also get a Venmo debit card and not use your other cards. Add money to the Venmo card and only use it for Venmo money transfers.

5. Transfer money from Venmo to your bank using the balance transfer option. You can do this immediately or you can use the free option, which takes 1-3 days.
