Flexible collaborative robots: Flexible production processes still depend on people's response to unforeseen situations. The goal of the DEVINE project is to reuse rigid collaborative robots to support people in a flexible way. Various sensors (cameras, IMU sensors, etc.) enhance the environmental sensing capabilities of the robots. With the help of machine learning, the progress of the process is recognized using the sensor data. The robot is automatically instructed to help the worker with the assembly, without receiving an explicit command from the worker. This is especially beneficial in unpredictable situations where the process deviates from expected behavior. The robot recognizes this deviation and can provide assistance if necessary.
