Iceland has always been at the top of my bucket list and this November I made it a reality. I decided to book a plane ticket with Icelandair and join an Intrepid Travel tour. The tour I booked with the Northern Lights Escape Tour.

The Northern Lights Escape Tour (https://www.intrepidtravel.com/en/iceland/northern-lights-escape-92884/printtripnotes) with Intrepid is a 5-day tour visiting all the major highlights along the south coast of Iceland. I arrived a day early and headed straight to the iconic Blue Lagoon. And I can tell you: no matter what people say, if you go to Iceland, this is a must see/do. Talk about a relaxing situation after a long international flight.

The next day the tour started with Intrepid. We drove the Golden Circle and saw Pingevellir National Park, Strokkur Geysir and Gullfoss Waterfall. After all the sightseeing we stayed in the middle of nowhere at a farm where we saw the Northern Lights that evening!!!! I can't even describe the feeling I felt when the Northern Lights decided to dance for us. It was an experience that made this trip unforgettable.

The next day we went to the coast where we visited the black sand beach of Reynisfjara. Talk about pretty amazing. The scenery is to die for. The combination of stepping stone rock formations, black sand (pebbles) and the ocean was just amazing. After the black sand beach we ended the day at the Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon. Now this place was just cool. The colors of the glacier were unreal. Diamond Beach is just across the street. Diamond Beach is a black sand beach with hundreds of glaciers, which is why they call it Diamond Beach. Because I'm sure that in perfect weather the glaciers shine like diamonds.

The next day we went to the glacier where we decided to enter the glacier. Unfortunately it's still very early in the season so there wasn't much to see and it was full of tourists, but still a really cool experience. We finished with some of the most iconic waterfalls such as Skogafoss, Faxi and Seljalandsfoss. Not only did we make pit stops at waterfalls, we also stopped along the way to see some glaciers among the mountains and volcanoes.

This trip has a very special place in my heart. I was speechless and had tears in my eyes. I can't believe such a beautiful place exists. Not only did the scenery blow me away, but I also met some of the most amazing people. We came as strangers, but left as friends. Thank you Intrepid Travel for such an incredible experience. If Iceland is on your bucket list, I encourage you to go. This is a place that must be seen!

I hope you enjoy the images from my travels!
Stay tuned, I'm going to Hawaii in January for my 30th!
