All calories in foods come from three major macronutrients: protein, carbohydrates and fat.

The keto diet basically eliminates carbohydrates from the diet, so the calories you consume come from protein and fat.

The keto diet also doesn't allow for high sugar or highly processed foods, so many people end up feeling healthier and losing a lot of weight, so they feel like it's a really good solution.

The problem is, and this is my overall nutritional perspective, that any diet that is restrictive from the start will cause friction in the long run.

And things that cause friction in the long run will derail your progress.
