Iran's National Tax Authority (INTA) urged Tehran regulators to legalize crypto trading platforms, saying that “legalizing crypto exchanges is necessary [for taxation]. Legal transactions should be limited to authorized exchanges that are allowed to exchange currencies and simultaneously monitor transactions.”

The agency lobbied against imposing rigorous measures on crypto exchanges as this could have “reverse effects” and create conditions for the development of a black market. INTA has also said that all rules should foresee sanctions for entities that do not provide their users' data.
