What is a MAF sensor?
The Mass Air Flow sensor (MAF or maf) measures the amount of air entering the engine. It sends this information to the engine control unit (ECU), which adjusts fuel injection and ignition timing to optimize engine performance and fuel economy. The MAF sensor is usually located between the air filter and the throttle body.
5 Signs of a Failing MAF Sensor;
1. Engine stalls or idles rough
A faulty MAF sensor can cause an erratic or unstable idle speed. The engine may stall or run rough at low speeds due to an improper air-fuel mixture. The MAF sensor provides critical airflow data; If there is a malfunction, the ECU may not get accurate readings, leading to improper fuel delivery.
