I am investigating CVE-2024-38063, a critical remote code execution vulnerability affecting the latest versions of Windows 10, Windows 11, and Windows Server

Softening:
“Systems are not affected if IPv6 is disabled on the target machine” – Microsoft

Steps to disable IPv6 on a network interface:
Open the Control Panel:
In the Control Panel, select 'Network and Internet' and then click 'Network and Sharing Center'.
On the left, click on 'Change adapter settings'. You will then see a list of all network adapters available on your computer.
Locate the network adapter you use to connect to the Internet, right-click on it and select 'Properties'.
In the properties window, scroll down to 'Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6)' and uncheck the box next to it.
Click “OK” to save your changes and close the properties window.
Restart your computer to ensure that the changes take effect.
