There is a major bug fix (for now) for Video View audiences related to Facebook Reels engagement.

When you create video viewing audiences, you select which videos are the source of engagement so you can build them for targeting. The problem: As of March, Facebook Reels no longer appeared among the videos you could select.

Instagram Reels still appeared. You can also select your regular Facebook videos and videos used for ads. But no Facebook reels.

So you can no longer target people based on their engagement with your Facebook Reels. If you're getting a lot of engagement on Facebook, it may have reduced the size and possibly the quality of that audience.

While I do a lot less retargeting these days and have chosen to go broader, this was one of the rare exceptions. I have found that people who watch my Reels to the end are deeply engaged. I leveraged that with ads.

It was actually a lot of fun. I created an ad asking /"Are you my people?/" due to the fact that I've been seeing this pattern of people looking at my Reels. Naturally, that ad will only be shown to people who have viewed a Reel in the past seven days.

I've also used this targeting to promote my one-on-one sessions and membership, as this is yet another golden audience I want to leverage.

But when the ability to select engagement on Facebook Reels disappeared, my audience shrank. I'm no longer receiving responses and engagement on the Facebook version of my ad.

This changed immediately when I was able to add my three most recent roles. So this is a big problem for me!

I don't know how widespread this bug was or how many advertisers were concerned about it, but I'm excited about it! Hopefully the change will stick. As we know, what is fixed today will be broken again tomorrow.
