I created this to show friends and family that we have a good Facebook alternative, but my "quick 10 minute video" turned into an extended 30 minute experience as I go through the entire interface and dive into their privacy policy. It might be faster to just create an account on Mewe.com and see for yourself.

tl;dr: MeWe has a good privacy policy and terms of service that make it better than Facebook. They have no ads and no algorithm, so bad actors are much less likely to abuse them.

I We can now replace Facebook to keep in touch with friends and family. They are groups with events and chat, so we can organize locally, organize our birthday parties, etc.

Switching from Facebook is possible, we just need to convince our friends and family to make the switch. You should at least consider preparing for post-Facebook-ness, unless you have no problem being used by Facebook and letting them trample on democracy.
