Food delivery workers are paid a minimum wage in New York City. Starting July 12, companies like Uber Eats and DoorDash will have to pay delivery drivers at least $17.96 per hour, a steep increase from their current average hourly rate of $7.09, including tips. The new rule, announced Monday by New York City Mayor Eric Adams (D) and the New York City Department of Consumer and Worker Protection, also calls for an increase to $19.96 per hour by 2025. #ubereats #grubhub # doordash #newyork #ericadams #shorts
