Creators in the YouTube Partner Program can start sharing Shorts ad revenue in February 2023. Shorts views already count toward the new program eligibility requirements for creators who don't participate in the YPP. Learn more!

Overview and eligibility of the YouTube Partner Program
Update January 2023: We've updated this page to reflect new eligibility requirements and other program updates. In addition, Shorts viewing hours no longer count towards the 4,000 valid public viewing hours threshold.

March 10, 2022: Given the recent suspension of Google's advertising systems in Russia, we are pausing the creation of new Russian accounts on AdSense, AdMob, and Google Ad Manager. In addition, we pause ads on Google sites and networks worldwide for advertisers based in Russia. As a result, creators in Russia are currently unable to complete new YPP signups.

March 3, 2022: Due to the ongoing war in Ukraine, we are temporarily pausing the serving of Google and YouTube ads to users in Russia. We are also suspending access to all monetization features (such as channel memberships, Super Chat, Super Stickers, and merchandise) for viewers in Russia. Learn more.

February 25, 2022: In light of the war in Ukraine, we are pausing YouTube monetization of state-funded media outlets of the Russian Federation.

We will continue to actively monitor the situation and make adjustments where necessary.

The YouTube Partner Program (YPP) gives creators greater access to YouTube resources and monetization features, as well as our creator support teams.
