3.5 years ago I participated in my first hackathon and it changed my life. This is that story. Having no coding experience and no idea what a hackathon was, I wasn't sure what to expect. But I had a lot of fun, learned a lot of new things, met some nice people and somehow got second place! Most importantly, this hackathon got me interested in computer science and technology, so I've been doing more and more hackathons (14 and counting), and now I'm studying Computer Science at the University of Waterloo.

If you've never participated in a hackathon before, I recommend trying it out to learn, meet new people, have fun, and get free stuff!
