This video provides a framework for thinking about the ethics of public health. It explores bioethics, human rights, justice and moral responsibility. Ethics is the philosophy of how we should live and can be applied to public health and global health to help make moral and fair decisions. Public health focuses on health at the population level and uses tools such as epidemiology and health economics to plan and implement interventions to improve the lives of groups of people. In this video we look at deontological and utilitarian ethics, developed by Kant and Bentham respectively.
