You have multiple electronic devices mounted on your rifle: rifle light, laser sight, and maybe even an IR illuminator. And now there's a mess of remote control cables on the handguard that looks like the back of your /"11.1/" home theater system. What a mess! Relax, Brownells Gun Tech @CalebSavant explains how to handle those cables so they don't get in your way or snag on nearby objects. A cable management system can be as simple as gaffer tape or cable ties, but there are neater, more sophisticated ways to keep the wires hidden.

Caleb has a Steiner DBAL dual output laser sight (visible and IR) and a SureFire Scout light mounted on one of his /"hotness/" rifles, both controlled by a Unity Tactical AXON remote control. The AXON actually has two controls, so it can operate the DBAL and SureFire independently, resulting in THREE cables snaking around the handguard.

The solution to Caleb's /"cable cacophony/" are PCM /"Panel, Cable Management/" wire routers from Forward Controls Design. The PCMs are machined from billet aluminum, with the same non-slip dimples on the top as FCD's MCF rail covers, and channels cut on the bottom to route cables. The PCM mounts neatly as desired into an M-LOK slot in the handguard and locks the cables snugly. They cannot move or get caught on anything and become loose or disconnected from the devices they control. A very neat and tidy installation.

There are other products for routing cables. If you are only using a SureFire light, Cloud Defensive offers a pressure pad switch mount that allows you to route the cable under the switch. There are many more innovative, effective ways to permanently place those unruly cables "under new management."
