Research data management, or RDM, is increasingly recognized as an important part of the research enterprise across all disciplines. With the introduction of the Tri-Agency Research Data Management Policy and the widespread recognition of principles such as FAIR, it is critical that researchers understand and implement good RDM practices. And it's not even that difficult! This workshop will give you an overview of the essentials of RDM, with tips, tools and resources that you can immediately apply to your work. Topics include:
– What is research data management and why is it important?
– What is a data management plan and how can it help you?
– What are some simple yet effective steps you can take to manage data now so you're prepared to share or retain your data later
