Application demo for General Rubber's Series 1100EPBJ Enclosed Elbow Pressure Balanced Rubber Expansion Joint.
1. Restrained elbow pressure-balanced rubber expansion joints are primarily designed to directly absorb axial thermal movements and resulting stresses, while resisting/balancing any pressure surges and other forces. They also relieve thermal stresses in perpendicular pipe runs by absorbing lateral movements. The mounting design allows the piping system to be designed with only intermediate anchors and much fewer conductors. This can also be an effective technical solution when there are limitations due to space and/or load limitations on the supporting structure and/or adjacent equipment.
2. The Balanced Elbow Pressure rubber compensators manufactured by General Rubber provide additional movement, such as axial, angular, lateral and torsional, that may occur due to external conditions. External conditions include, but are not limited to, ground settlement, wind and shock loading, and seismic events. The rubber compensators will have a lifespan of tens of millions, while effectively reducing noise and vibration and compensating for skewed pipes.
3. Balanced rubber expansion joints with limited elbow pressure provide access to pipes and equipment via removal or self-retraction and can also provide some adjustment to the installed length.
