This video briefly demonstrates a high-speed positioning test of the robot actuator based on Harmonic Drive's voltage wave gear. The manufacturer's recommended average input speed for this particular gearbox is limited to 3500 rpm, which accordingly produces 70 rpm (or 420 deg/s) on the output flange of the gearbox with a gear ratio of 50:1. Furthermore, the test shows that the actuator can easily be controlled backwards, which offers many opportunities for human-robot collaboration.
