Following the recent FDA approval of the wearable revision surgery system – which the company described in a release as a first for orthopedic robotics – Smith Nephew said Cori can now address total, partial and revision knee arthroplasties, along with computerized total hip arthroplasty .

Duke University surgeons combined Cori with SmithNephew's Legion revision knee implant portfolio. Cori relies on imaging-free mapping technology, which uses a handheld probe to build a 3D model of the joint's bone and cartilage without the need for a CT or MRI scan.
