Samsung SmartThings updates and new features || Local automation, new interfaces, more!

I want to show you some incredible new ways that Samsung SmartThings has given us for controlling your smart home with SmartThings! This is a very exciting time and I'm happy to share these new updates, new features and even a few new products for your SmartThings home automation system.

This will definitely give you some of the best smart home ideas yet, especially when you look at the new interface available at https://my.smartthings.com/ and in the new Windows 10 SmartThings app. I'll show you how both can become really powerful, and if you really think about it, you might just buy a new Fire HD tablet and start using that website.

The biggest SmartThings news in my house is definitely the local control of SmartThings, which you can now get as part of the SmartThings beta. Here's where you can post the beta to your hub (it will take a while to get into the program) – https://smartthings.centercode.com/key/Sh5hhsB

However, the biggest #SmartThings news for you is probably the fact that the Matter standard is coming (formerly called CHIP) and it will likely be included on the SmartThings V3 Hub, as well as the new Aeotec SmartThings Hub (get one here: https://popp.to/?ref=AYL – affiliate link). I think we'll see backward compatibility, and even see the SmartThings hub you have in your home become a Matter-certified controller and a Matter bridge to your ZigBee and Z-Wave networks.

At the end of today's #update and new #features video I'll show you 2 videos to watch. The first is so you can learn more about the Matter standard and the products I think will work with it: https://youtu.be/FxXL9scIX_Y

The second video is a comparison of all the major wireless technologies you may have heard of and considered using in your #smarthome. It's Zigbee vs. Z-Wave vs. Wi-Fi vs. Thread vs. Bluetooth vs. Matter: https://youtu.be/3zaTIRiFemQ

Oh, maybe you need that Hub if you can't find it. So here: https://geni.us/AeotecSmartThingsHub (Amazon affiliate link) or here: https://popp.to/?ref=AYL (affiliate link) and use code AUTOMATEYOURLIFE for 2% discount

The other Aeotec sensors are now also available, here:
