Today we won't waste any time by showing you how to set up Twitch alerts in under 10 minutes!

We're using Twitch's new built-in Alert tools, which means it's completely free and works with OBS, Streamlabs and even Twitch Studio. We'll show you how to add follower alerts, subscriber alerts, gift card alerts, cheer alerts, hype train, follower goal, charity alerts, and even how to activate Twitch Celebrations.

How to add alerts to OBS or Streamlabs

To get alerts working in your stream first, you need to add an alert box to OBS or Streamlabs as a browser source

Go to OBS or Streamlabs, click Add New Source, select browser source and now go to your Twitch Alerts Dashboard, select your Alerts Browser Source and copy that to your browser source in OBS or Streamlabs.

Now click /"Send Test Alert/" to send an alert to OBS or Streamlabs to confirm that you have set it up correctly.

Different actions will obviously trigger different alerts, such as new followers, subscriptions, renewed subscriptions and donations can trigger alerts.

How to add Twitch Alert variations to Streamlabs and OBS

Go cheer. If you're not an affiliate yet it might not be there for you but you can track it using raids instead but if so it should say by default that the alert will play at least 1 bit of cheer .

We're going to set a variation for when 100 bits are cheered, so click on the 1 bit, go to the top and click on this little square.

I want you to click on the new alert and change the name to 100-bit Cheers. In the drop-down list you will now see 3 options.

Cheer Exactly, cheer anyway, and cheer for the first time. This goes without saying, but cheers precisely mean that the alert will play when someone cheers the exact amount you set. In any case, cheer means that if you set it to 100 bits, any amount over 100 will use that warning, and the first time cheer for if a viewer is brand new to cheer you on.

We're going to make this alert for exactly 100, so click Exact Cheers.

Below that, set the bits to 100, this is obviously the place to change the variation amount.

And the rest is exactly the same as customizing your other alerts, so you change the message, change the visuals, decide whether this event should trigger text-to-speech or not, and click Save.

There is one more step. I want you to move the 100-bit Cheering to the top of the list on the left. Variations are shown in priority, so when someone cheers, Twitch goes to the list of alerts you have and starts moving down the list until they reach an alert that meets the cheering person's criteria.

So for example if you had a warning of at least 1 bit first in the list it would just play that since 100 bits is obviously at least 1 bit but since we moved it to the top it gets to that first and says : “Exactly 100, okay, I'll play this”

Click Save again, and now if someone cheers 100 bits, this warning will go off instead of the others.
