Ongoing energy transitions and decarbonization efforts are poised to trigger profound shifts in employment in the sector, including new job creation opportunities in clean energy. The clean energy transition requires governments to anticipate the coming changes with detailed assessments of workforce and skills requirements to undertake the scale of new projects needed for a transition to low-carbon economies.

In the context of the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, training, upskilling and reskilling programs to support oil and gas industry workers for jobs in the clean energy industry offer significant opportunities to address the challenges posed by to tackle energy transitions and safeguard macroeconomic conditions. stability that is partly underpinned by employment.
